Potty Training!

For about a month and a half, Saige has literally been BEGGING us to potty train her.  She would yell, "I wanna pee pee in the potty!".  I decided it would be pointless to start trying before the baby came for fear of her regressing and it ruining our progress, well now Saige has had a chance to get into a routine with Swayzee, so I figured it was time to start!


We  started with a Minnie Mouse potty, with all the bells and whistles, sings, has a handle to flush, makes a flushing noise, and has 50 different parts I swear! All Saige would do it take the damn thing apart and run around the house with the pieces! Well we got a little potty seat for the big toilet and while she loves sitting on it, Mommy can't sit in the bathroom with her and the baby for 12 hours a day while she tries to go potty.   I decided to try a more SIMPLE potty with less parts and we ended up with this!

We also made a simple little chart that Saige can put stickers on  every time she goes potty.  When she goes 3 times (and I swear she knows when 3x is!), she gets a little dollar store toy.  All day I hear, "Go potty, get sticker & toy!".  The night we got the new potty and sticker chart, she went 3 times!  Since then she goes in the potty at least 4-5x a day, she's even pooped in it a few times! 

When she doesn't use the potty, she pee's in her pull up, takes it off, throws it away, wipes her own butt, and puts on a new one! Sometimes she runs around naked too, but I figure it's not hurting anything and she's learning how to hold is for 3-4 hours! hahaha  Beware, if you visit unannounced, my kid will probably be nude! 

My favorite parts of potty training?  Watching Saige "set up" to go pee.  Grabs the iPad and sippy cup and she's ready to camp out for half an hour! Next time she does it I'll try to snap a picture.  ;) 

Looking on Etsy for potty training, I found this little contraption.  Comes with 10 capsules that you load with treats (candy, small toys, money, etc.) After they go potty, you drop the cord down so they can reach and they get to pull the cord for their surprise! I just ordered one for Saige and can't wait till it gets here!  The best part? It's only $14.00 with shipping!!

Naked...

One of the biggest struggles of living with a two year old girl who has access to her dresser (that will be changing VERY soon), is trying to control her desire to change eleven thousand times a day!  No matter what I do, I cannot keep this child out of her clothing drawer, or keep her clothes on!  Luckily she only has access to her underwear/sock and pajama drawers (the little latch locks broke...), but that still offers hundreds of dress up options, that would only be considered acceptable by Saige! 

She changes into and out of her panties... A few days after we brought Swayzee home, Saige was in her room with JJ saying, "I pee , peed" JJ went to check her diaper and there was a puddle on the floor.  She has snuck into her room, swapped the diaper for panties and redressed herself in the same clothes!! I'm thinking next week (since things are starting to settle down) starts potty training.... That should be entertaining...

 Someday we will master this clothes thing. By the way...taping the diaper on with packing tape does not work either... I've tried. Desperate times call for desperate measures.
